The ViVida head is a true small machine within the large OPTIMO.
OPTIMO, the "main machine," moves and directs the laser tool in its wide-working envelope (4500 x2500x 1020 mm). The ViVida head, the"small machine," performs short and very fast movements (12 m/s2).
It features an additional linear axis (W), which is coordinated with the B and C axes of the conventional head to generate the Vivida’s own working volume (20 x 20 x 20 mm).
The CNC and its innovative proprietary algorithms allow the two machines to work simultaneously and coordinate their movements in order to always obtain the fastest and smoothest execution of the trajectory.
Far from being a simple end-effector (i.e., a device positioned by the main machine to accomplish its local job), ViVida shares the movements with OPTIMO according to their own peculiar skills. The high dynamics movements are assigned to the small and light machine and the stress on the main one is reduced, even when the highest performances are demanded.
The VIVIDA benefits:
- astonishing cycle time reductions, up to 30% on typical automotive components
- higher productivity and lower production costs
- able to execute complex shapes with both excellent accuracy and high speed
- improved reliability and efficiency thanks to smoothness of movement
