P50L has

drilling, both percussion and trepanning.
The P50L
has the highest peak power (50 kW)
of any laser on the market. This
is the very best laser available
for demanding applications requiring
very high aspect ratio holes at
shallow entrance angles, deep holes,
or high speed drilling applications
such as fire-on-the-fly. The design
is based on the philosophy that
stresses simplicity, ease of operation,
and high reliability Applications
include drilling turbine engine
blades and vanes, combustion liners,
fiberglass spinnerets, and automotive
lubrication holes. The P50L
is available in 200 and 250 W average

New developments in laser optics and electronic power supplies,
along with sophisticated computer modeling and analysis tools,
have enabled development of designs that provide superior
performance, are less complex, more reliable, and lower in
cost. The P50L uses a v-rail optical
bench for superior stability and flexibility. This configuration
allows easy replacement of components for processing flexibility
and configuration adjustment, and requires little or no alignment
after components are changed, minimizing downtime. The power
supply is based on the newest, solid-state IBGT electronics.
This technology, developed for rapid switching of high currents,
is ideal for the flexible requirements in today's manufacturing
environment. The power supply pulse and resulting laser pulse
can be easily shaped with PC-based WaveTool software.
The P50L laser head includes a highly
efficient resonator, variable spot module (VSM), quick and
easy flash lamp/optics replacement without realignment, sealed
against airborne contaminants, and programmable shot count
for shutter open. The power supply includes advanced solid-state
design (IBGT), extreme efficiency, fully programmable, pulse
shaping, compact NEMA 12 enclosure, and integrated water conditioning
system.
The system includes user-friendly Windows®
PC-based controls, universal interface (serial and parallel),
externally controlled laser functions, easy integration with
CNC or PC-based controls, accessible interlock and system
indicators, rapid switching of operating parameters |
