PRIMA SHIPS 1000TH CP SERIES INDUSTRIAL LASER

News Release

PRIMA Announces Shipment of its 1000th CP-Series Industrial Laser - Technology Sets an Industry Standard for Laser Processing

Chicopee, MA:  PRIMA North America, Inc. announced it shipped its 1000th CP Series industrial CO2 laser, reinforcing its position as a world leader in the design and manufacture of industrial lasers and laser systems.

The CP Series laser has become an industry standard used for metal cutting and welding in the aircraft, automotive, agricultural equipment, appliance, furniture, mining and general fabricating sectors.

Terry L. VanderWert, President of PRIMA North America announced the achievement and said, "This is an important milestone for PRIMA North America and one of which we are all proud.  The CP Series lasers are recognized for their high electrical efficiency compared to other lasers within the same power range, and for beam quality that contributes to high precision and high cutting quality of a wide range of materials.  With installations in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia, the CP Series family of lasers has proven to be a consistent, cost effective and reliable manufacturing tool wherever they are used."

"As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the invention of the laser, it's worth noting that the roots of the CONVERGENT LASERS brand CO2 lasers can be traced to the early 1960's, shortly after the invention of the laser.  We have the deepest experience in the manufacture and service of high power industrial lasers of any company."

FAST FACTS ABOUT PRIMA CP SERIES LASERS

The CP Series is a family of 3 to 4 kW fast axial flow, DC-excited CO2 lasers.  CP Series lasers utilize the latest electrical and mechanical technology and adhere to the highest standards for quality and reliability.  The design stresses simplicity, ease of integration, operation, maintenance and servicing.  They employ field-proven technologies for the resonator, power supply, gas circulation and controller subsystems.  Their design is based on a close collaboration of an international team of engineers and scientists.  The CP Series of lasers produced at PRIMA North America headquarters in Chicopee, Massachusetts are built in an ISO 9001:2008 certified facility.  All components combine to provide an innovative and yet rugged industrial laser with high electrical efficiency, low gas consumption and exceptional compactness.

They are extremely versatile.  They offer both CW and a wide range of pulsing performance while maintaining repeatable beam characteristics.  They are superior in processing difficult stainless steel applications and provide advantages when piercing, cutting or welding other materials, without changes to the machine tool setup.

Easy to install, they feature long-term reliability and process stability with low operating costs, and simple operation supported by unparalleled customer service.
