LASERDYNE 795 BeamDirectorThe LASERDYNE 795, a 5-axis laser machining system, is designed to drill, cut and weld medium to large 3D parts with a unique moving beam motion system. Constructed for high-speed operation without compromising mechanical accuracy, it is the first and only standard built multi-axis laser system to guarantee volumetric accuracy. Typical applications include processing:

The LASERDYNE 795 is designed to accept CO2,Nd:YAG, and now fiber lasers for cutting, drilling and welding 2D and 3D parts.  These systems are used by aerospace, turbine engine, and contract manufacturing companies that require flexibility of motion and tight tolerances when laser processing. The open frame architecture and moving beam motion system allows the system to be configured to handle parts of virtually unlimited size. Conforms to CDRH rules, CE compliant, and is in use around the world. The 795 is the first system to incorporate the third generation of field proven direct drive LASERDYNE SYSTEMS BeamDirector® with a fully integrated Automatic Focus Control (AFC™) as a standard feature. The large clear aperture in both the CO2 and Nd:YAG versions allows integration of a wide variety of high powered CO2, Nd:YAG, and fiber lasers.

The new standard System 94P controller includes dual CPU processors with a configuerable operator interface and a high speed Linx operations system, LPC laser process control software, and single point laser control. Industry leading software has been developed especially for shape hole drilling and contouring of difficult to program parts. Programmable control of unique CL50k Nd:YAG laser features, ICT™ and VSM™, makes this the only laser drilling system to offer Adaptive Hole Size Control™.

The 795 BeamDirector is extremely reliable and designed to operate around the clock with minimal maintenance. Servo drives with internal self-diagnostics, armored cables and connectors, air purged optical path and mirrors that are easy to remove for cleaning without need for realignment, all add up to a reliable laser machine giving maximum performance with minimal downtime.

  • Adaptive Hole Size Control - The single best method of producing the highest quality laser drilled holes. It is based on drilling at focus and can only be accomplished on systems equipped with the CONVERGENT LASERS CL50k laser.  It will insure hole size and critical flow requirements with minimal operator involvement. 
    The concept of “Adaptive Hole Size Control” is a means by which the LASERDYNE System 94P Laser Process Control Systems accepts and reacts to information coming from a the laser drilled hole.  Once data is input the System 94P will determine if there is a requirement for corrective action to the process.
    Data can be introduced to the S94P CNC in two ways
     either by direct input from the system operator – Hole Diameter Compensation - HDC
     or by direct connection to a customers air flow measuring system – FlowComp

Options include:

  • LASERDYNE 790 using OFC3D CAD/CAM for off-line programming
  • CDRH Class 1 enclosure for Nd:YAG and CO2 laser use, manual or automatic operated doors, internal lighting and exhaust port (located outside the enclosure).
  • Linear scales for XYZ axes to maintain standard accuracy over a wider temperature range.
  • HEPA filter fume collector, 14 m3/min (500 CFM) or 42 m3/min (1500 CFM). Ducted to enclosure exhaust port.
  • Rotary tables to 762 mm (30") diameter, standard or high precision.
  • PresSure™ programmable assist gas pressure.
  • CylPerf™ software for Nd:YAG laser "drilling on the fly".
  • OFC™ Optical Focus control for Nd:YAG LASER systems - a non contact method of measuring for the surface of metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Break Through Detection - BTD™ For Nd:YAG laser systems - determines when breakthrough has occurred in percussion laser drilling and initiates a finish cycle.
