LASERDYNE SYSTEMS, PRIMA North America, Announces Sale of Its 26th Multi-Axis Laser
System
To Asia Pacific Aerospace Customers

Champlin, Minnesota: PRIMA North America, Inc. announced that LASERDYNE SYSTEMS, a world leader in multi-axis laser machining systems, recently shipped a 790 BeamDirector to Guizhou Xinyi Machinery Factory Co. Ltd., located in Guizhou, China.

The Guizhou Xinyi order was the 26th multi-axis laser system shipped by LASERDYNE to Asia Pacific aerospace manufacturers since 1988 when the company first began selling its systems in Asia.

Dr. Paolo Cigna, president of PRIMA North America, said that these orders underscore the worldwide acceptance of LASERDYNE multi-axis machining systems by the turbine engine and aerospace industries.

“These orders are a strong indicator that LASERDYNE technology is the ‘gold standard’ for precision, high speed laser processing of turbine engine components,” stated Cigna.

Guizhou Xinyi Machinery Factory is a leading manufacturer of turbine engine vanes and blades. The LASERDYNE laser systems are used for trepan and percussion drilling small holes in turbine engine nozzle guide vanes and blades. Like the other applications for LASERDYNE SYSTEMS in gas turbine engine manufacturing, most of these parts are produced from difficult to process high temperature materials such as Inconel® and super cobalt alloys. The holes are of different sizes, shapes and at varying angles. With the LASERDYNE laser systems, these holes are produced accurately and at rates up to several holes per second in some applications.
